Deuba and Prachanda ordered to stop offensives

Janak
Kathmandu/23 July, New Prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba requested the Maoist leadership to stop all the actions in a second day of his NC Parliamentary leader elected. Few hour later of his press statement the Chairman Prachanda also issued a press statement while ordering the guerrillas to stop the pre-planned military offensive actions for the present moment The observers and the people are looking the move is very positive if the government creates the conducive environment for the political solution of the present crisis facing by the country.

On sunday night Maoist guerrillas has attacked in a Pandusen base camp of the commando police where 17 police have been killed including 3 police sub inspectors. On Monday after noon Deuba made public that he had ordered the security forces to stop all the actions against the Maoists and the supporters. In retaliation at the evening a press statement was circulated to the press signed by Chairman Prachanda of CPN (Maoist) where he strongly instructed the guerrillas to halt all the military actions previously planned and requested the guerrillas to be standby for the active defense. But it is indicates all the organisational and political activities will be continue.

In the statement issued by PM Deuba has said he would take steps soon to create the conducive environment for the dialogue. For this there should be halt in a offensive actions which is necessary to provide the political outlet from the present complex crisis facing by the country.

Prachanda has stated three steps to create at least conducive environment for the dialogue and the talk. He strongly appealed Deuba government to initiate to publicise the disappeared detainees, to release the prisoners from both sides and to abolish the policies and the decisions taken by the Girija government. These are the concrete points which should fulfilled from both the side to create the conducive environment.

Prachanda  has repeated in his statement the earlier raised necessity for the political solution from the present political crisis. It would be big mistake to try to find solution in a present condition by ignoring the historicity. We have raised seriously this in light of the historical necessity for the formation of interim government, the construction of new constitution and the question of institutionalisation of the republic. The palace massacre and the fallen of the Girija clique clarified the emergency of the total change in the country. Deuba government would courage to take new initiation against the tradition of the fascist and traitor Girija clique.

Prachanda has warned the revolutionaries and the masses to be aware towards the utilisation of the liberal looking Deuba by the imperialists and the reactionaries.

All the things depend upon the further move of the government, how the environment would be create or just try to linger around the bureaucratic process.

It is clear the struggle against the extreme conservative and the imperialists and expansionists would never stop. The hope is the democratic and the progressive forces in unity is rose up once again which can be the peaceful chance to solve the problems. If we looked the past the hope is remains critical because the people's war was started when Deuba was prime minister. It was that time when anti-Nepal traitor Mahakali treaty was passed, it was the time when the Romeo operation was launched against the unarmed supporters of the maoist party in 1995/96.

The leaders of the political parties are taking it as a positive action but saying it depends upon the government.
