More than 143 persons in Kathmandu and 5 persons in Lalitpur were arrested according to the news broadcaster from the police control Radio Nepal. But the number of arrested are more than double, the protesters/organisers said. The government completely failed to govern the country, the situation during three days clearly shows.

No confidence motion registered

The senior leader of NC and former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba had registered no confidence with 56 signatures at the parliamentary party office in a renewed bid to oust prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala. Some nine month ago Girija became prime minister in same way by ouster the Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, his senior leader. Then the charges against Bhattarai were unable to curb the insurgency, failed to maintain the peace and order and failed to punish the corrupt. But now the rebels of NC charging Koirala for pushing the country in a situation of civil war, to make hard public life by increasing prices of petroleum, sugar, electricity, telephone and other necessary goods. He is charged for the corruption in Lauda air lease project of RNAC and other corruptions. He is responsible for the killing of civilians and disappearances, tortures. There are 113 seats for congress party in parliament. Among them 56 have signed and a former prime minister and leader K.P. Bhattarai already asking him to regin from prime minister and party president.

Nepal shutdown (Banda) from oppositions

The last day of the 2000 and the beginning of new year 2001 are calling for Nepal shutdown after the killing of five person in capital on Tuesday 26 of December by the so-called democratic police funded by the western countries. The main opposition party in Parliament CPN(UML) condemned the violent act of government and was asked regination of deputy prime minister and home minster Ramchandra Paudel failure to curb the violence generated by police. Now the meeting of nine left parties called Nepal shutdown "On January 1^st and 2^nd " to over through the fascist Girija government. It seems to be more violent if the government doesn't resign. The main opposition also decided to call nation-wide shutdown for the 30^th of December the last of the year 2000. In Nepalese history Girija is a very violent blood drunker of the innocent people in different name.

The shameless government shamelessly saying the continuation of protest would bring danger for the democracy. In fact there is no democracy at all. The limit rights, Nepal people brought from the 1990s peoples movement are discriminated and condemned by the NC government by killing, torturing, disappearing the people, by selling the public properties to the compressors in the name of privatisation, by selling the national resources through absolutely unequal treaties and by hiking the prices of basic services and necessities. Now after the announcement of united people's governemnt protected by the Maoist party from the different part of the country, there is a parralel govenment. The legacy of the Girija government is already finished. There is only a fascism and rule of criminals and corrupt is existing by the beanet of military and police forces. But by pressure the terrorist cabinet even agreed to provide compensation and the expense of the treatment of injured made by them.

More than 100 different human rights organisations, political parties, mass organisations and social organisations issued press statements condemning the government and demanding the resignation of government and punish to the responsible immidiately.
