We strongly condemned the cowardly act of attacking a human rights defender, lawyer and a popularly known personality as a organiser of support campaign for the victims of destructive constructions including hydro dams, Gopal Siwakoti "Chintan" . He also organises discussion forums and interaction programmes on the issues of globalisation, privatisation, anti-national acts of the such a elements etc.

It can not be a just accident but a planned attacked which is taken place within a hundred meters distance of home ministry. He and friends were threaten in past also while expositing the anti-Nepalese elements. He was arrested by the police while organising the interaction programme about the people's war and the international laws and imprisoned for nearly two weeks, came out by the ruling of supreme court of Nepal to release him from the illegal imprisonment. The police confiscated the audio and video documents related to the fact finding and evidences against police violence. This attack is taking place when the government is launching the special criminal court (based on Panchayati black law negated by the present constitution), the time to formation of a paramilitary armed police force, a death squad to massacre the people and a situation when India is going to seize the water resources in different ways.

We, International Nepal Solidarity Forum demanded the Nepal's government to punish as soon as possible the violent attacker of Gopal Siwakoti "Chintan". We wish his better health and strength for the further fighting power. It shows the work of "Chintan" hurts the mafia linked powers and the agents of imperialists and human rights violators. The doing for the oppressed and for just would never go waste. The physical violent attack shows the enemies of people are afraid with the just work and will be gain more strength in the battlefield for justice. We want to promise to expose the bad elements and fight for the justice by working more closely in future. We also request the medias in Nepal to fight the state terror which now coming as symbol of indirect banning in independent news by the spacetime and FM events. We would always support and promote the independent news publishers and freedom of expression as the main symbol of Democracy.
