The art of communication
In these days France gives a good example in demonstrating that art
- beyond ist esthetic effect - can and shall have an effect on public
with its political comments. It is one example that will be realised also
in Bremen, although in a different perspective.
In view of an aggravating visa policy, French counterparts are using
their public image to have an influence on political discussion, where as
the project in Bremen FLUCHTZEITEN won't use art only for linguistic
communication, but also and especially for emotional communication.
Latest experience is that only logical arguments can't create real
understanding when people are coming together. But it is a question of
coming together, when somebody seeks refuge.
The reason why artists trust in the feature of art is that it is an inter national understandable medium, which gets over boundaries and does n't need translation that is why art appeals to practical sense and less
to logical sense. An Indian proverb says: Don't judge anybody until you
walk one mile in his shoe. It is this kind of understanding each other
that artists of the project FLUCHTZEITEN should promote in different
ways.
