Maoists Capture a Police Post and a Bank

The guerillas of Nepal Communist Party ( Maoist) attacked Binayak police post of Achham districts, about 500 kilometer west of Kathmandu on Saturday night .
 

Hundreds of guerillas and masses attacked in the Binayak police post, a branch of Nepal Bank limited and a telephone tower at a same time. The battle was continued for 3 and half hour which lasted at 2.00 after the surrender of police, at the last day of celebration of "martyr-week". According to the news there is no death tole, but 2 police officers: Sub Inspector Devi Chand and ASI Uttam Bahadur Chand are missing and five others (a sergeant and four constables) are injured . It is possible that those two may be arrested by guerrillas, but there is no eyewitness of this.
 

Maoist guerrillas seized 11 rifles from police, 2 twelve-bore gun and ammunition from the Bank guard and in the Binayak police post.
 

The guerrillas seized about 10 million ruppees of cash and gold from the NBL branch and destroy the bank documents of loan issued to the peasands including loan agreement papers.
 

At the end the guerrillas destroyed the building of police post. Same time they captured the telephone repeater tower also. 
 

This place is near that village where commando police were killed nine villagers in a culture programme at the Dungal VDC of Achham, about a month before.
