  CWIN's Intermational Appeal against

Pedophilias in Nepal

Investigation reports have revealed Nepal slowly emerging as a safe destination for foreign pedophilias. Besides the tourists, most of these perpetrators are resident expatriates managing child care centers, who in the guise of benefactors to these poor and underprivileged children are sexually abusing them. In the last few years, several have been arrested and held in police custody, but only for a shortwhile, because there is no specific law against pedophile.

Jean Jacques Haye (French, passport no. 91 RI 16405) and Christopher R. Fraser (British, passport no. 500020801)--both who managed child care centers in Kathmandu--were arrested in May 1999 following complaints by children, sexually abused by these two men.

Christopher was caught red handed by the police during a raid at a guest house in Thamel. Allegedly a notorious pedophilia, Christopher is also suspected of making child pornography, with support from both Nepali and foreigners. In May 24, 1999, a criminal ring associated with Christopher has kidnapped three children from the playgound of the CWIN Center for Children at Risk, who had testified to the police on his illicit behavior and abuses. He wants to destroy all evidences and testimonies that can prove his heinous crime.

Fortunately, the Nepal Police with CWIN's help has arrested the criminals involved and rescued the kidnapped children. We thank the police for their action against the pedophilias. We also urge HMG/N to take further action to combat child sex abuse in the country. So, it's important that the government collaborate closely with the committed NGOs working against child sexual abuse and trafficking in children in Nepal.

OUR APPEAL TO YOU IS, help us by providing information about:

- suspicious people and organizations involved in child sexual abuse

- action taken against child sexual abuse

- the blacklisted child sex abusers from your respective countries (in detail)

- different types of activities the pedophilias organize to cover up their crime;

and also help us by:

- suggesting and recommending how to fight against the syndicate of child sex abusers

- exposing information on the issue through your communication system and media
  - sharing what sort of campaigning activities are organized in your country against child sex abuse

Thank you for your cooperation
